Toxic Judge Mis Judges Hard Working High School Honors Student By Wrongly Using Her As An Example
TOXIC judge, Lanny Moriety’s judgment leaves a lot to be desired in my view if he could sentence a very hard working 17 year old high school girl in jail for missing school. Jail was clearly not the answer for this 4.0 honor student was truant for a very good reason.
The girl was left to fend for herself with no parental guidance. Apparently her parents had the audacity to just pack up and leave her and both move away after they divorced. Talk about abandonment issues this poor girl must be having. She now lives with the family of one of her employers who owns a wedding venue. She also works at a dry cleaners full time.
She has to work these full time jobs to help put her older brother through college at Texas A and M as he is allegedly not getting help from his parents. She also had to earn money to help care for a younger sister who lives with relatives in Houston. Besides that, this remarkable young lady takes advanced placement and dual credit college level courses and has a straight A average. .
Her excuse for missing class is that she is often too exhausted to wake up in time for school. Sometimes she misses the entire day, she said. Sometimes she arrives after attendance has been taken.
Instead of helping her and providing her with some alternatives, The Toxic Judge ordered her to spend 24 hours in jail and pay a $100 fine, The Toxic judge openly admitted that he wants to make an example of this girl as he said,
“If you let one (truant student) run loose, what are you gonna’ do with the rest of ‘em? Let them go too?”
This judge clearly has it wrong here. This girl is not like” the rest of em”, This girl is not “running loose”. She is a productive member of society. She is not hanging out at a street corner wasting the day away taking drugs and committing crime.
In my view this judge has no business being in the position he is in. His judgment is very poor in my view. He has added insult to injury in ruining this poor child’s life in sentencing her to jail and now giving her a record. He has created further emotional trauma in her life.
He needed to work with the school to help her out in her particular situation. I also hold the school accountable for their not helping her. The girls is devastated because she now has a criminal record which can impact her future. Since ut is obvious that no one has the right solution for this girl , I have some advice for this high school junior.
At 17, she needs to immediately drop out of high school, take her GRE’s to get her high school diploma and then enroll in a junior college at the same time so he can finish her degree by the time she is 18 or 19 . Then she can transfer to a regular college to finish her BS Degree . This way she can fit her college classes around her extensive work load.
The fact that she even has a job let alone two jobs in this day and age where teen unemployment is at an all time high is amazing. She needs to be rewarded for that alone.
Now the girl will have additional trust issues with which to deal as he matures such as trust and abandonment She was abandoned by her parents and now she has been abandoned by the school and the toxic judge who in my view has no business being a judge.
